The Togo forward played from 2001 to 2019 and moved around a fair bit: Metz, Monaco, Arsenal, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Tottenham and Crystal Palace. Along the way he picked up:
- 97 Premier League goals, spread over several clubs
- the African Footballer of the Year award in 2008
- a loan spell at Real Madrid
- the record as Togo's all-time top scorer, and with it the tag of the best player the country has produced
