The Mali midfielder won the Champions League with Guardiola's Barcelona in 2009 and 2011, along with three La Liga titles. He was a key member of that squad, even if his name rarely made the front page.
His career, from 1998 to 2016, took him from Centre Salif Keïta to Lorient, Lens, Sevilla, Barcelona, Dalian Aerbin, Valencia, Roma and Al Jaish. He also made over 80 appearances for Mali.
