One backheel did it. In the 1987 European Cup final, Rabah Madjer scored against Bayern Munich with a flick of his heel. Porto won the cup, and the trick has carried his name ever since. The move is still known as the Madjer.
That same year he was named African Footballer of the Year.
Madjer played from 1977 to 1992. He started at NA Hussein Dey and went on to FC Porto, Valencia, Al Nassr and SC Farense. For Algeria he was one of the key men in the golden generation of the 1980s.
