Vipers SC have parted ways with head coach Denis Lavagne by mutual consent after 11 competitive matches in charge.

The club announced the decision on Saturday October 24 following Friday night's goalless draw against Police at St Mary's Stadium Kitende.

The Venoms thanked the Frenchman for his services and wished him well in his future career.

Defending champions Vipers have won just once at their Kitende home ground this season.

They sit sixth on 11 points after three wins two draws and a defeat from six matches.

The Venoms trail leaders BUL by six points but have a game in hand on the Eastern outfit.

Performances in draws against Maroons and Police offered encouragement but the failure to turn promise into victories left Lavagne's position difficult to defend.

For a club with Vipers' ambitions home form and dropped points have carried consequences.

Friday's stalemate proved the final straw for the tactician.

The club now faces the task of finding a successor capable of translating improved performances into consistent results as the season progresses.

The argument doing the rounds in Kampala is whether the Venoms faithful expected instant success with a foreign tactician or whether the board panicked too early.

Vipers SC next fixture is away to NEC FC at MTN Omondi Stadium.
