The Entebbe Tour is part of the CAVB Zone V Beach Tour, which also features stops in Bujumbura, Mombasa and Dar es Salaam. The competition gives players an opportunity to earn ranking points that count towards the next leg of the tour.
Although 12 Zone V member countries were initially expected to participate, logistical adjustments reduced the field to four nations: Uganda, Burundi, Kenya and South Sudan.
