Uganda is set to participate in the 2026 ANOCA Zone V Games at Kenyatta University in Nairobi from August 24 to 28.
Youngsters across seven different sporting disciplines are stepping up preparations for the regional multi-sport event scheduled to take place in Kenya.
The event provides a vital platform for emerging talents to gain international experience and showcase the potential of Ugandan athletes on a regional stage.
Participating National Olympic Committees from the ANOCA Zone V region will be drawn from Burundi, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.
ANOCA identifies Zone V as comprising 11 National Olympic Committees from Eastern Africa and the wider region.
For the Ugandan youngsters, the Games are about more than just winning medals or appearing on the roll of honour.
Nairobi is now firmly in sight as Team Uganda prepares to carry the national flag across the regional stage.

Uganda will compete in the following seven sporting disciplines at the 2026 ANOCA Zone V Games:
- Athletics
- Swimming
- Judo
- Cycling
- Tennis
- Beach volleyball
- Women’s 3×3 basketball
