SC Villa head coach Zeljko Kovacevic has urged fans to support the club's new project and remain patient ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Serbian tactician addressed the faithful during a meeting at East High School, Kulambiro, on Sunday to discuss the club's direction.
"When I came here, I was told that Villa has many fans, but what I have seen is much bigger — Villa has a great family, and I am proud and grateful to be part of it," Kovacevic told the supporters.
Kovacevic noted that building a squad with young players requires time and investment in the long term.
"I humbly ask for your continued support and patience. We all know that we have started a new project, and working with young players takes time," the coach said.
In his maiden season, Kovacevic led the outfit to a FUFA Super 8 title and a Stanbic Uganda Cup final.
However, the club will not defend their FUFA Super 8 crown after being knocked out by NEC in the recent finale.
Why is SC Villa rebuilding?
SC Villa is undergoing a major transition following the departure of several senior players and the tragic passing of captain David Owori.
Notable departures include Ali Bayo, Frank Mulimi, and goalkeepers Jean Brady Wokorach and Norman Agunfindru.
To compensate for these losses, the club has brought in young talent with limited top-flight experience.
