Ugandan players will feature in the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers in Rwanda from August 21 to 31.
Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC will represent the nation after winning the 2025/26 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League.
The Valley Warriors finished the campaign with 52 points to secure their sixth league title.
“We shall prepare well and represent Uganda with pride. We know it will be tough, but we are ready to compete,” coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi said.
Crested Cranes midfielder Zainah Namuleme will also ply her trade in the competition for Rwanda’s Rayon Sports.
Namuleme recently moved to the Rwandan champions from Kenya Police Bullets after helping the side win the Kenyan league title.
Other Ugandans in the regional tournament include Grace Aluka and Spencer Nakacwa playing for South Sudan's Yei Joint Stars.
Goalkeeper Ruth Aturo and forward Zainah Nandede will also feature for Tanzania’s Simba Queens.
How will Kawempe Muslim compete in 2026?
Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC will compete in Group B against Commercial Bank of Ethiopia and Djibouti’s FC UJECO.
