KCCA FC beat Lugazi FC 2-1 at MTN Omondi Stadium on Wednesday to extend their winning run to four matches in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Substitute Charles Lwanga cancelled out Cromwell Rwothomio's opener before Sammy Ssebaduka struck in stoppage time to secure the points.
Lugazi took the lead in the 56th minute when Rwothomio connected with Frank Mulimi's corner delivery to silence the home faithful.
Coach Brian Ssenyondo introduced Lwanga and Ibrahim Kasule in the 63rd minute and the changes paid off three minutes later.
Lwanga headed home Kasule's corner to restore parity and shift momentum back to the Kasasiro Boys.
With the contest heading for a draw, Shafik Kwikiriza delivered from the left in the 90th minute for Ssebaduka to head home the winner.
The forward was subsequently named Man of the Match for his decisive contribution.
The victory lifts KCCA to fifth place with 13 points from seven matches, six behind leaders BUL FC.
Meanwhile at Rwamwanja Stadium, Gadaffi Kacancu's first-half strike handed Mbarara City a 1-0 win over Vipers SC.
Kacancu finished Rogers Mugisha's delivery in the 30th minute to give new coach John Luyinda a losing start.
Vipers struggled to break down Mbarara's organised defence despite Gusto Mulongo and Milton Karisa's efforts.
Mbarara were reduced to 10 men in the 78th minute when Mugisha received his second yellow card.
The defending champions could not take advantage of their numerical superiority as they slipped to seventh on 11 points.
Mbarara climb to 12th with eight points after the morale-boosting victory.
Entebbe UPPC and Maroons settled for a goalless draw in the day's other fixture.
The result leaves Entebbe fourth on 15 points while Maroons sit eighth with 11 points.
