KCB Rugby held off a late fightback from Kabras RFC to claim a hard-fought 12-10 victory in the Embu 7s final at Embu Stadium on Saturday.
The win, the bankers' third over Kabras in four meetings this season, sent them six points clear at the top of the National 7s Circuit standings with one leg remaining.
Vincent Onyala opened the scoring with a try for KCB, with Austene Sikutwa adding the extras for a 7-0 lead.
Mike Lukusi responded for Kabras with an unconverted try after Rayvon Ambale missed the conversion, cutting the gap to 7-5.
Emmanuel Opondo then crossed for KCB's second try to restore the seven-point cushion at 12-5.
Kabras mounted a late rally when Griffin Chao pounced on a loose ball to dive over and make it 12-10, but KCB stood firm in the closing minutes to deny the sugar millers an equaliser.
