Kabras RFC beat Heathens 17-12 at Kings Park Arena on Sunday to win the second edition of the Kampala 7s tournament.
The Sugarmen avenged a 10-5 group-stage loss to the same opponents with a composed performance in the final.
Player-coach Ntabeni Dukisa guided a youthful squad that featured Eric Cantona as one of the few senior heads.
Dan Wafula opened the scoring when he burst from a scrum to touch down for the opening try.
Heathens hit back with a converted try to lead briefly before Adrian Khwesa powered over in the corner for a 12-7 advantage.
The sides were locked at 12-12 until Khwesa produced the decisive moment with a clever kick-and-chase try.
Earlier Kabras had booked their place in the final with a 25-5 semi-final win over Toyota Buffaloes.
Group-stage results included a 49-0 thrashing of Kyadondo Select and a 22-7 victory over Rams.
The argument doing the rounds in Kampala is whether Kabras can translate this sevens form into the upcoming 15s league campaign.
