JT Junior Lady Jaguars defeated MUBS Lady Jills 46-42 at Hamz Stadium on Sunday to win their quarterfinal series 2-1 and reach the semifinals for the first time in club history.
The Junior Lady Jaguars overturned a 1-0 series deficit after losing Game One 53-42 before bouncing back with a 45-41 win in Game Two.
Captain Maria Bifuka said the achievement fulfilled a long-standing goal for the team and credited their coach for the historic turnaround.
The decider was tightly contested throughout with the teams deadlocked at 23-23 at halftime and level again entering the final five minutes.
JT Junior then produced a decisive 6-0 run while holding MUBS to just two points down the stretch to seal the 46-42 victory.
They now face a daunting semifinal test against top seeds Kampala University as they continue their maiden run in the last four.
The argument doing the rounds in Kampala basketball circles is whether JT Junior's momentum from this comeback can unsettle a Kampala University side that has looked dominant all season.
