KCCA and NEC to clash in FUFA Super 8 final

KCCA and NEC will lock horns in the FUFA Super 8 final at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 7pm. Both sides are desperate to clinch the title in this high-stakes finale.

KCCA enters the final looking to end a seven-year trophy drought, while NEC seeks its first silverware since being promoted to the top tier. The Kasasiro reached this third final in their history after defeating Kitara FC 1-0 in the semi-finals, following a quarter-final victory over BUL FC.

NEC secured their spot in the finale by overturning a deficit to beat defending champions SC Villa 3-1 in the semi-finals. This comeback followed their aggregate victory over UPPC in the quarter-finals.

Key players to watch include Saidi Mayanja for KCCA and Richard Basangwa for NEC. KCCA's Brian Ssenyondo said his side is hungry to bring trophies back to the club. NEC coach Badru Kaddu noted his players are mentally set for the challenge.

Before the final, SC Villa and Kitara will face off in a third-place play-off at 4pm.
