Prisons Netball Club beat defending champions KCCA Netball Club 55-54 at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo on Saturday to hand them a first defeat of the Uganda Netball Super League season.
The wardens bounced back from last weekend's narrow loss to UCU Angels and held their nerve in a tight final quarter.
KCCA Netball Club led 14-10 after the opening quarter but Prisons Netball Club fought back to trail by just one goal at half-time, 27-26.
Both sides scored 14 goals each in the third quarter and 13 apiece in the final period as the match went down to the wire.
The victory lifts Prisons Netball Club to third on the table with 20 points from 11 matches, level with KCCA Netball Club who stay second on superior goal difference.
UCU Angels remain top with 22 points from 12 matches after their weekend win.
KCCA Netball Club missed defender Shafie Nalwanjja who was serving a one-match suspension for protesting umpire decisions against Buddo.
The rivalry remains finely balanced with recent meetings producing a draw, a one-goal Prisons win and narrow KCCA victories in the 2025 National Super League final and East African Club Championship semi-finals.
