Baby Cricket Cranes beat Sierra Leone U19 by 98 runs at the Gahanga main oval in Kigali on Wednesday to maintain their unbeaten run.
Uganda made one change to the squad that beat Ghana, with Kassimu Adam replacing Felix Ochan for this ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Africa Division 2 Qualifier clash.
The Ugandan outfit endured a shaky start, losing four wickets during the first powerplay as Sierra Leone’s bowlers applied early pressure on the top order.
Robert Owilli proved the star boy with a well-crafted 53 off 83 deliveries, while Richard Sohera added a patient 31 to help the team recover.
Uganda eventually reached a total of 152 in 45.3 overs before being dismantled by the Sierra Leone bowling attack.
Defending the total, the Baby Cricket Cranes showed great discipline to bowl Sierra Leone out for just 54 in 28.4 overs.
Richard Sohera earned Player of the Match honours after contributing 31 runs and claiming three wickets during the clinical victory.
Head Coach Grace Mutyagaba noted that while the batting innings was not as strong as expected, the players held their nerve under pressure.
