Uganda will line up alongside a record 17 nations at the 2026 All Africa Team Championship starting at La Forêt Golf Course in La Soukra on Wednesday.

The Africa Golf Confederation confirmed Tunisia as host for the biennial 54-hole stroke play team event running from October 14 to 17.

Coach Flavia Namakula has named a quartet of Godfrey Kambale, Amon Bwambale, Shaka Kariisa and Anthony Otukei to represent Uganda.

South Africa arrive as defending champions after claiming their 12th continental crown in Bulawayo two years ago with a dominant 31-stroke winning margin.

Zambia finished runners-up at that edition while hosts Zimbabwe completed the podium.

Late withdrawals by Tanzania and Sierra Leone did not diminish the historic entry which marks the largest field in tournament history.

The championship is supported by the Tunisian Golf Federation and luxury prize sponsor Vessel Golf.

Competing nations include Algeria, Botswana, Cameroon, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Libya, Mauritius, Morocco, Réunion, Seychelles, Zambia, Zimbabwe and hosts Tunisia.

Uganda will aim to improve on past showings against a deeply competitive continental field.
