Manchester United’s search for a permanent boss has hit a massive pothole. While the Red Devils were busy dreaming of bringing Luis Enrique to the Theatre of Dreams, the PSG man was busy enjoying his croissants and planning his future in France.
Word has it that even though United officials flew all the way to Paris to hold "secret" talks, Enrique has decided to snub them completely. He’s currently in discussions with PSG to sign a massive deal that could keep him there until 2030!
Why is he giving United the "No"? Enrique isn't sure United will even be in the Champions League next season.
Sources say he doesn't think the United job is the "right project" for him right now.
He has a rock-solid relationship with PSG’s sporting director, Luis Campos, who also just signed a new deal.
"Enrique believes managing United is not the right project for him. He also has reservations about taking charge of a club which might not be in the Champions League next season," reports the Mirror.
What Happens to Michael Carrick? While the big bosses are crying over Enrique, Michael Carrick is busy doing the actual work. Since he took over as interim boss from Ruben Amorim, he’s been on a roll even beating Man City and Arsenal.
If Carrick keeps winning and lands a top four spot, the Glazers and Sir Jim Ratcliffe might just have to stop looking at foreign menus and realize the best cook is already in the kitchen.
Is Carrick the real deal, or do United still need a "big name" like Tuchel or Ancelotti? Tell us what you think are we giving Carrick the job or what?
