Ipswich Town defender Leif Davis was among more than 1,300 volunteers who joined the search for three-year-old Noah Woods in the early hours of Wednesday morning, the Premier League club has confirmed.
Davis, 26, took part in the desperate hunt alongside the boy's family after Noah went missing in the Levington area, with the full-back's presence praised by supporters.
A Just Giving page set up by 'Good Dads Club' to support the family has raised more than £71,000, with one user posting on X: "That's an amazing thing to do."
Club captain Dara O'Shea and goalkeeper Christian Walton also laid a wreath at the playground where Noah was last seen, the club confirmed.\n"The thoughts of everyone at Ipswich Town are with the family and friends of Noah Woods at this tragic time," the Premier League club said on Thursday.
Noah's father, Rhys, said in a Facebook post that his son "will be loved forever" and nothing can describe the family's loss.
"Noah was the sweetest and most innocent little boy, with nothing but love to give, and we are going to miss him so very much," Rhys said.
Davis, who joined the search shortly after Tuesday's Carabao Cup clash with Arsenal at Portman Road, has been hailed by Ipswich fans for his character.\nAn Ipswich supporter told the Just Giving page that Davis had been among the first to join the search after the match.
Ipswich's men's first-team will play away to Everton on Saturday.
