Uganda's Lady Volleyball Cranes swept Burkina Faso 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-18) in Nairobi on Wednesday to seal a quarterfinal berth at the 2026 CAVB Women's African Nations Championship.
It was a second straight-sets win in Pool B after Tuesday's 3-0 dismantling of Senegal, and it stretched Uganda's unbeaten run to six consecutive sets without dropping one.
The Lady Cranes controlled the contest from the first whistle, taking the opener 25-14 before tightening the screws with a 25-13 second set.
Burkina Faso pushed harder in the third, but Uganda stayed composed and closed it out 25-18.
Pool B standings after day two
Uganda now sit on six points from two matches and are guaranteed a top-two finish, with Burkina Faso and Senegal unable to catch them.
Thursday's meeting with Egypt at Kasarani Indoor Arena will decide who finishes first in the pool and, by extension, the quarterfinal draw.
What is at stake in the knockout rounds
The African champions book a direct ticket to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, while the top three in Nairobi qualify for the 2027 FIVB Volleyball World Cup in the United States and Canada.
For a Uganda side that has barely broken sweat in the group stage, Egypt is the first proper measure of where they stand among the continent's established powers.
Win that, and the Lady Cranes roll into the quarters with momentum and a favourable draw. Lose it, and the road to Los Angeles suddenly runs through a heavyweight from the word go.
