Group B in the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League features Kawempe, AS FAR Rabat, USFAS Bamako and Ampem Darkoa.
Kawempe Muslim Ladies will carry Uganda’s hopes when they make their debut at the CAF Women’s Champions League, with a challenging group campaign awaiting them in Egypt. The Ugandan champions are the first club from the country to reach the final stage of the competition and will be eager to make a strong impression against some of Africa’s established sides.

Their biggest test comes in Group B, where they will face defending champions AS FAR Rabat of Morocco, USFAS Bamako of Mali and Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies. Kawempe open their campaign against AS FAR on Monday at 5pm at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo.
The Moroccan side have won the competition twice, in 2022 and 2025, and will provide a tough test for the Ugandans. The Ugandan side will then face USFAS Bamako on Thursday at 8pm before completing their group matches against Ampem Darkoa on Sunday at 5pm.
Kawempe earned their place in the tournament after winning the CECAFA zonal qualifiers in Rwanda in August, beating Kenya Police Bullets 1-0 in the final. They will look to build on that performance, with forward Agnes Nabukenya among the players expected to lead the attack.
She scored 10 goals in the 2025/26 FUFA Women Super League and added four in the CECAFA qualifiers, where she was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. Jovia Nakagolo is another attacking option after scoring seven league goals and three during the zonal qualifiers, while attacking midfielder Shakirah Nyinagahirwa will also be important to the team's efforts.
Kawempe have named an 18-player squad comprising two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders and six forwards.
The tournament features eight teams divided into two groups, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals on November 11. The final will be played on November 15. The champions will earn $600,000, while the runners-up will receive $400,000.
Uganda’s preparations have received support from the National Council of Sports, which provided sh50m, while FUFA paid air tickets for the 30-member delegation.
