Johnson Omolo was re-elected unopposed as president of the Africa Golf Confederation by 31 member countries during the All Africa Team Championship at La Foret Golf Course in La Soukra, Tunisia. The election was officially endorsed by The R&A, world golf’s governing body. Delegates described Omolo as Africa’s new visionary leader, crediting his 18 months of shuttle diplomacy across the continent for rallying nations around Pan-Africanism. He pledged to operationalise a signed memorandum with the Arab golf federation in Riyadh, opening doors for coach and referee exchanges, continental championships, and junior and ladies golf development. His strategy team, headed by Steve Junior Oyono Elemva of Paris, travelled to Tunisia to support the campaign. Omolo lauded regional golf presidents from Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, and the wider executive committee. The constitutional mandate was delivered against the backdrop of the ongoing All Africa Team Championship, the largest in history with 17 nations competing. Hosts Tunisia are joined by Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Botswana, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Gabon, Cameroon, Ghana, Mauritius, Reunion, and Seychelles.
