Cricket Uganda sent two representatives to the National Anti-Doping Organisation Uganda stakeholder review of the inaugural Draft Strategic Plan on Thursday. Edgar Kazibwe and physiotherapist Juuko Japheth attended the session that started at 10:00 AM at NADO-U offices on 3rd Street, Jinja Road.
The review covered the strategic direction for FY 2026/27 to FY 2029/30 with a focus on protecting clean athletes and meeting international standards. Juuko Japheth presented proposals to embed research into anti-doping practices, athlete tracking and medical monitoring.
Edgar Kazibwe added insights on communications, culture and performance psychology, stressing mental health and comprehensive support systems alongside enforcement. The Cricket Uganda duo brought interdisciplinary perspectives to ensure the plan reflects field realities.
"Protecting the integrity of our sport goes far beyond regulatory enforcement; it requires a holistic framework that actively supports our athletes' mental health, incorporates robust research, and embeds education into every level of our development pathways," Kazibwe said.
NADO-U leadership welcomed the feedback and collaborative proposals from the Cricket Uganda team. Cricket Uganda remains committed to a transparent, safe and fair sporting environment for national players.
