Cricket Uganda visited CBS FM's Kaliisoliiso show on Tuesday where honorary secretary Denis Musali handed over a Shs3 million contribution plaque to support the Nkozi Hospital Accident and Trauma Centre drive.

People Culture and Communications Lead Edgar Kazibwe accompanied Musali onto the live broadcast hosted by Abbey Mukiibi Abu Kawenja Peace Diane Bagala and Rajab Bogere Kanakulya.

The discussion centred on cricket's rapid growth nationwide grassroots talent pathways and efforts to make the sport accessible to every community.

Cricket Uganda thanked the CBS FM team for consistently using their massive platform to champion sports development and elevate the cricket cause across the country.

The Shs3 million contribution also secured a table for Cricket Uganda at the annual Kaliisoliiso Dinner scheduled for September 11 2026 at Hotel Africana in Kampala.

CBS FM hosts the dinner alongside the Buganda Kingdom the Catholic Church and Rotary District 9213 to fund the Nkozi trauma centre supporting road safety and accident casualties.

Musali said sports leaders must stand shoulder to shoulder with communities beyond the boundary rope.

"Sport has a unique power to unite communities but our responsibility as sports leaders goes far beyond winning matches or growing the game on the pitch," Musali said.

The debate in Kampala asks whether cricket funds should prioritise humanitarian causes over domestic facility gaps.
