Barcelona have agreed a £65m deal to sign Spain captain Rodri from Manchester City for a four-year stay in Spain.
The 2024 Ballon d'Or winner is set to join the Spanish giants in a deal that should be completed in the coming days.
Rodri leaves the Etihad Stadium after seven trophy-laden seasons, having made 298 appearances for the Manchester City outfit since his move from Atletico Madrid in 2019.
Despite a disrupted campaign due to knee and hamstring injuries, the midfielder returned to peak form to lead Spain to World Cup glory this summer.
Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca acknowledged the magnitude of the loss after his side's recent Community Shield defeat to Arsenal.
"Rodri is a player who just won the World Cup and Ballon d'Or," Maresca said.
"He's a top player, all the teams need a Rodri, so it's not about if we miss Rodri or not."
City now look to replenish their midfield, with reports suggesting interest in Moroccan teenage sensation Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Who is Manchester City's main target to replace Rodri?
Manchester City are reportedly eyeing 18-year-old Ayyoub Bouaddi, who could cost an estimated £85m to replace the departing star.
