Warri Wolves complete training ahead Rivers United NPFL clash

Warri Wolves completed their final training session on Tuesday at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium ahead of Wednesday's rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League fixture against Rivers United.

Head coach Hassan Abdallah and his technical crew used the session to fine-tune tactical plans for the Port Harcourt encounter.

The club's media unit said the workout allowed players to sharpen preparations and put finishing touches to their match strategy.

After training Abdallah urged his charges to stay confident and focused, emphasising a positive mentality, determination and discipline against the home side.

The coach's message followed an earlier demand from Warri Wolves chairman Neveil Ambakaderemor for maximum effort and all three points.

The Seasiders carry a psychological edge from their last meeting on 5 April 2026 when they beat the Pride of Rivers 2-0 at the same venue.

Igbunnu Evwierhurhoma converted a penalty before Othuke Egbo struck in stoppage time to seal that victory.

Warri Wolves now aim to translate their preparations into a strong performance as they continue the 2026/2027 NPFL campaign.

Rivers United will hope to respond on home soil and level the recent head-to-head record.
