Vipers SC and Kitara FC turn from a bruising domestic weekend to CAF competition this Saturday and Sunday, both hunting opening-leg results before the tie breaks for travel.
The league champions welcome Mauritanian side Nouadhibou to St Mary's Stadium, Kitende on Saturday under floodlights at 7pm, the Venoms desperate to steady themselves after a 1-0 opening-day loss to UPPC in Entebbe last week.
Vipers coach Denis Lavagne accepts the heat that result has put on his technical bench.
"This is going to be a difficult one, just like all CAF Champions League games, and we have to play our big game to win a big game," said Lavagne.
"I am confident in the team I have to get the job done," he added.
"There is always pressure for a coach. It's normal pressure for everyone, including the players.
"We are well prepared for the game. We have played a couple of games, including Gor Mahia in CECAFA and Nairobi United in a friendly."
Attention then shifts to Hoima City Stadium on Sunday, where Stanbic Uganda Cup holders Kitara host Somalia's Mogadishu City in the CAF Confederation Cup.
It is only the second time in history that the Royals have played in the competition, and the new Hoima arena will host both legs.
Should Kitara scrape through, Egyptian heavyweights Al Ahly await in the second preliminary stage, a tie that would test the limits of any newcomer.

Vipers need a win at Kitende to quiet the noise after that UPPC slip, while Kitara are walking into their second-ever Confederation Cup tie knowing Al Ahly could be waiting on the other side of a first-round scalp.
