Entebbe UPPC FC put on a clinical display at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo on Friday evening, beating Police FC 3-0 in the Uganda Premier League to climb to fourth place in the table.
A first half brace from Steven Munguchi and a late strike from Ambrose Kigozi did the damage, and a red card for Police defender Richard Matovu just before the break left the visitors with a mountain to climb.
Quick off the blocks
The match came alive straight from the kickoff. UPPC showed their intent inside the first 30 seconds, when a glaring chance went begging. They did not have to wait long. In the 3rd minute Munguchi found space inside the area and broke the deadlock, giving UPPC a dream start.

Police, shaken by the early goal, slowly found their footing and pulled possession back to an even split by the 15th minute. But UPPC had the cutting edge. In the 27th minute Munguchi struck again, finishing a fluid attacking move for his second of the night. Oriti should have made it three in the 35th minute but missed a one on one chance.
Red card drama
Just as Police looked for a way back before the break, indiscipline ended their hopes. Matovu was booked in the 43rd minute and, moments later, a reckless challenge earned him a second yellow and a red card at the end of the half.
Police went into the tunnel a man down and two goals behind.

Second half resilience and the final nail
Police showed real grit after the restart. They dominated the ball, holding around 65 percent of possession by the 70th minute, and their goalkeeper made several vital saves to keep them within touching distance.
The extra man told in the end. As Police pushed forward for a consolation, UPPC hit them on the counter, and in the 89th minute substitute Kigozi finished off a quick break to seal a 3-0 win and a clean sheet.
