The 2026/27 StarTimes Uganda Premier League returns this week after a three-week break that allowed the Uganda Cranes to compete in the AFCON Pamoja 2027 qualifiers and international friendlies.

The Cranes began the international window with a 1-1 draw away to Tunisia before beating Libya 1-0 at the Hoima City Stadium in the AFCON 2027 qualifiers.

Uganda then faced the Democratic Republic of Congo twice in international friendlies in South Africa, winning the first match 2-0 before drawing the second 1-1.

With the international window now over, attention returns to domestic football, with Matchday Five scheduled to start on Wednesday.

Wednesday: Villa open the matchday in Bukedea

Record champions SC Villa will open the matchday on Wednesday, October 7, against league newcomers Kataka FC at the BCS Complex in Bukedea.

Villa go into the match after a 3-0 victory over Kigezi HomeBoyz, while Kataka are still searching for their first win after four matches. They lost 1-0 to KCCA FC in their last game before the break.

Kitara FC will also be looking for their first win when they host Kigezi HomeBoyz at the Hoima City Stadium.

Maroons FC will welcome Lugazi FC to Mutesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku, while Mbarara City travel to the Police Arena on Kira Road to face Ntugasaze.

Thursday: Vipers face in-form Blacks Power

On Thursday, October 8, defending champions Vipers SC will face a difficult away match against Blacks Power FC at the Hoima City Stadium.

Blacks Power have made a strong return to the top flight, winning three of their opening four matches.

Elsewhere, NEC FC will host Express FC at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, while unbeaten BUL FC travel to Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo to face UPDF FC.

Friday: URA v KCCA under the lights

The matchday will conclude on Friday, October 9, with a double-header at Hamz Stadium.

Entebbe UPPC will face Police FC at 5:00pm before URA FC host KCCA FC at 8:00pm in the main fixture of the day.

The return of the league gives clubs an opportunity to build on their starts to the season after the international break, with Matchday Five expected to further shape the early standings.
