UPDF FC beat Maroons FC 1-0 at Hamz Stadium on Thursday as the StarTimes Uganda Premier League paused for the international break.
Hussein Hassan Zzinda scored in the 43rd minute to hand the army side a narrow victory.
The result lifts UPDF to eighth place on five points from four matches.
Maroons remain 11th on three points after failing to find a response in the second half.
In the night fixture Express FC came from behind to draw 1-1 with Kitara FC.
Frank Tumwesigye put Kitara ahead in the 23rd minute assisted by Henry Patrick Kaddu.
Nicholas Jjonga equalised for Express in first half stoppage time with Isa Glory Kisuule providing the assist.
The draw leaves Express ninth on four points with only one win in four matches.
Kitara sit four places below on two points having drawn both of their opening games.
Kitara suffered a further blow as Kaddu and Isaac Amutuhaire picked up injuries raising doubts over their availability for the CAF Confederation Cup tie against Al Ahly of Egypt.
