The Uganda Premier League has secured a Shs204 million partnership with Centenary Bank announced at Mapeera House in Kampala on Monday.
The agreement makes Centenary Bank the league's official banking partner with immediate effect.
Shs100 million will fund league operations while another Shs100 million supports media activities.
An additional Shs4 million goes towards cash prizes for the competition.
Centenary Bank's Gonza Pay platform will power digital ticketing at league matches across the country.
UPL chief executive Bernard Bainamani said the deal signals growing corporate confidence in the competition.
Bainamani noted past institutional disputes and negative publicity had scared away potential sponsors for years.
The wars have now ceased allowing the league to pursue commercialisation beyond the StarTimes broadcast deal.
Board chairperson Arinaitwe Rugyendo called the partnership a milestone in building a football economy.
Rugyendo said the funds will improve player welfare and give fans better value for their money.
Improved stadium facilities now meet international standards enabling wider television coverage opportunities.
Clubs are being encouraged to employ trained personnel to professionalise their administration structures.
The UPL targets brewing and telecommunications companies as the next commercial partners.
