Uganda Lady Cranes maintained their unbeaten run at the Safari 7s with a 24-7 victory over Junior Lionesses at Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday. The Ugandan side stepped up after the break to register their third consecutive win in Nairobi. Kenya Lionesses also kept their perfect record intact, edging Tunisia 19-17 in a tight contest. Both sides came into the encounter on the back of two consecutive victories and were eager to maintain their perfect starts. Junior Lionesses made a promising start, with Rose Okwemba collecting an offload before racing over for the opening try to give her side a 7-0 lead. Uganda responded with an unconverted try to reduce the deficit before Grace Auma crossed the try line to give the Lady Cranes a 10-7 advantage at half-time. Gertrude Kateesa scored after the break to extend the lead to 17-7. Rachael Mufuwa added another try to put the result beyond Junior Lionesses' reach, sealing a 24-7 victory. Kenya Shibli ended their winless run with a 17-7 victory over TUK Women, bouncing back after losing their opening matches. The women's competition remained fiercely contested with Kenya and Uganda continuing their winning runs.
