Uganda Cranes host Libya at Hoima International Stadium on Tuesday in the first ever senior national team match at the venue as both teams chase opening AFCON 2027 wins.

The Cranes held Tunisia 1-1 in Rades while Libya rallied from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against Botswana in their Group B openers.

Coach Paul Put told reporters the point in Rades will count for nothing if Uganda do not perform and get a good result against Libya on Tuesday.

Put confirmed everyone in his squad is fit although SC Villa goalkeeper David Lukwago was not cited in the last training session.

Libya coach Youssou Dabo said his charges want to build on their second half comeback against Botswana and make history by winning the first game at Hoima.

Dabo acknowledged Uganda are a very good side that has been together for some time now and expects a tough game.

Put remained tightlipped on whether any of the new faces will feature against Libya hinting many could face DR Congo in two international friendlies in South Africa.

The argument doing the rounds in Kampala is whether Put should blood the fresh call-ups immediately or stick with the core that frustrated Tunisia away.
