Uganda Cranes beat DRC 2-0 in Johannesburg on Friday as Paul Put's side secured a convincing international friendly victory in South Africa.
James Bogere handed the Cranes an early lead in the seventh minute after capitalising on a defensive blunder by the Leopards goalkeeper.
The Congolese dominated possession for large spells of the first half but lacked the clinical edge to trouble David Akpa in the Uganda goal.
Theo Bongonda came closest to equalising just before the interval when his sharp effort shaved the post and went wide.
Kevin Owusu Boateng doubled Uganda's advantage ten minutes into the second half with a cool finish capping off a slick team move initiated by Abdoulaye Sissako.
Coach Paul Put utilised his bench late on, handing minutes to Richard Basangwa, Frank Ssebuufu, Joseph Sseremba and Saddam Masereka.
Ssebuufu almost added a third in the 82nd minute but his powerful strike bounced off the crossbar.
The two sides will face off again in a second training match on Monday October 5.
