This weekend is not for the faint hearted. Arsenal are sitting pretty at the top with a 6 point lead, and they are moving like a okada with no brakes straight for the title! Meanwhile, Manchester City are looking a bit like a Matatu stuck in the mud after their recent "collapse."
Arteta’s boys are hosting the newcomers Sunderland at the Emirates. If they win that one, the gap becomes nine points! Banange, that is what we call "giving them serious pressure."
Saturday: Arsenal vs Sunderland. A win stretches the lead to 9 points.
Sunday: City travels to Anfield. We all know Anfield is a "no-go zone" for Pep. He’s only won there once in 10 tries and that was when the stadium was as quiet as a church on Monday!
If City drop points again, the tables will have turned so far that Pep might need a map to find the top spot.
City’s new signing Tijjani Reijnders is already talking big, saying they want to ruin Arsenal’s quadruple dreams. But talk is cheap, and the pitch is where the real work is. Reijnders and his friends like Omar Marmoush need to find their rhythm fast, or they’ll be watching the trophy parade from the sidelines.
"We can't afford any more slip ups," says Reijnders. "We want to win every game."
Easier said than done when you're heading to a stadium where the fans make more noise than a Kampala market on a Saturday.
Arsenal fans, are you ready to start the party? Or will City find their " relentless engine" and make us all eat our words? One thing is for sure; this weekend, it might end in tears.
