Spiro Uganda joined the Rwenzori Marathon as the official Green Mobility Partner for 2026 during a ceremony in Kampala on Monday.
This partnership seeks to promote cleaner transport and environmental sustainability through sport in the Rwenzori region.
More than 200 Spiro electric motorcycle riders took part in a Green Boda Boda ride through the streets of Kampala to showcase electric mobility.
Spiro electric motorcycles will be used during the marathon to transport key officials, journalists, and medical teams.
"The Rwenzori Marathon is one of the world's unique sports, where we have people running across the equator," Amos Wekesa, co-founder of the Rwenzori Marathon, said.
He added that the partnership promotes clean and green transport beyond the sporting event itself.
Bruce Mucunguzi, Deputy Country Head of Spiro Uganda, said the company wants to demonstrate how electric mobility creates healthier communities.
He noted that Spiro has already deployed over 30,000 electric motorcycles on Ugandan roads using battery-swapping infrastructure.
