Sempigi Sadick joins SC Volcanoes for Big League debut

Sempigi Sadick has joined SC Volcanoes as head coach for their maiden FUFA Big League season in Kisoro on Monday.

The experienced tactician arrives at the club just days after he resigned from the newly promoted Uganda Premier League outfit, Kigezi HomeBoyz.

Sadick was instrumental in the Kabale-based side's historic campaign that secured them a place in the top flight for the first time.

"We believe his experience, ambition and understanding of the game make him the right person to lead us into this important chapter," said Dr. Martin Mbonye, Club President.

"Welcome to SC Volcanoes, Mr. Sadick. We are the Kabiranyumas, SINE LIMITIBUS," the President added.

Sadick was later introduced to the club patron, Robert Mukiza, who serves as the director general of the Uganda Investment Authority.

Ahead of the new season, SC Volcanoes Kisoro—formerly known as Mutolere Sports Club—plans to use the football platform to promote local tourism and investment.

Stephen Muneza, the club’s Commercial and Sponsorship Director, said the team aspires to be ambassadors for the region's attractions, including the Virunga Volcanoes.
