SC Villa Trustee and Afrigo Band founding member Moses Matovu died on Thursday after unknown assailants attacked him near his Kibuli home in Makindye Division.
The 77-year-old was rushed to Kibuli Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival following the incident at Kibuli Market Zone B.
Kampala Metropolitan Police confirmed the attack and said Matovu succumbed to his injuries in the early hours.
His death comes just over a month after the club lost captain David Owori in a similar attack by thugs.
Matovu served as SC Villa treasurer between 2013 and 2014 before becoming a Members Trustee alongside Hajji Omar Mandela, Franco Mugabe, Fred Kawuma, McDusman Kabega and William Nkemba.
The former Nakivubo Boys, Express and Police FC player was a founding director of the legendary Afrigo Band.
