Rescue Esports beat 15 other Kenyan squads to be crowned PUBG Mobile National Championship (PMNC) Kenya 2026 champions at Mwai Kibaki Hall, Mount Kenya University, on 21 to 22 August.
Rush Esports finished second and No Pressure third, the two teams joining the champions in booking slots to the PMGO Africa Regional Final.
The trio will now face leading PUBG Mobile outfits from across the continent for a USD 14,000 prize pool, the biggest stage yet for Kenya's competitive scene.
The tournament was officially sponsored by Infinix, whose GT 50 Pro was used as the event's gaming phone.
The argument doing the rounds is whether Kenyan esports can now sustain this momentum beyond a single weekend, or whether the country still needs more grassroots leagues before its players can consistently challenge Africa's heavyweights.
