Eleven-year-old Ramathan Mubiru, known as King Rama, stole the spotlight at Garuga racecourse on Saturday during Ponsiano Lwakataka's 25-year motorsport celebration.
The grandson of rally legend Moses Lumala finished 13th overall in his XCar buggy, beating more powerful machinery including Ronald Sserunjogi's Subaru Impreza.
Rama had just represented Uganda at the FIM Africa Motocross of African Nations in Namibia days before the Garuga event.
His five-year-old sister Skylar Baale opened proceedings for Lumala Racing Team in a small yellow buggy.
Family patriarch Moses Lumala swept all his runs to win overall with a fastest time of five minutes 26.04 seconds.
His son Musa Lumala finished second, just two seconds behind, while returnee Allan Gayi completed the top three.
Haruna Kataza was fourth in 5:50.130 on his Subaru debut, with Nasser Mutebi fifth.
Moses Lumala praised his grandchildren's talent and courage, saying Rama can compete on the world stage.
Singer Haruna Mubiru, Rama's father, thanked Lumala for developing his children's motorsport careers.
The occasion also marked Lwakataka's return after an 18-year rally absence, with fans clearing all debts on his new Volkswagen Polo Proto.
Lwakataka has ordered spare parts for the Polo Proto as he prepares for the next round in Gulu on October 9-10.
