Prosper SA, St Mary's Kitende SA set for FUFA Academies League final

ChampionSport Editorial Team·05-10-2026·2 min read

Prosper Soccer Academy will face St Mary's Kitende Soccer Academy in the inaugural FUFA Academies League final at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, on Sunday at 3pm. The final pits the Kampala Region group winners against the Buganda Region group winners after both sides topped their respective 18-match groups. Prosper finished top of the Kampala Region with 53 points from 18 matches, recording 15 wins, two draws and two defeats for a goal difference of +32. Their tally included the competition's special four-point reward for victories by a two-goal margin or more. St Mary's Kitende SA topped the Buganda Region with 57 points from 18 matches, registering 14 wins, three draws and one defeat for a goal difference of +47. Kitende were the most prolific side across both groups, scoring 64 goals at an average of 3.56 per match. Prosper conceded only 10 goals, the fewest in the competition, while Kitende let in 17. The argument doing the rounds in Kampala is whether Prosper's tighter defence can contain Kitende's free-scoring attack in a one-off final. St Mary's Kitende striker Katerega John Mary has netted 17 goals, sitting second in the scoring charts behind El-Cambio Academy's Kasumba Angello on 23.
