Top-seeded Ugandan pair Muzafaru Lubega and Gladys Mbabazi booked their place in the mixed doubles final at the 2026 Kampala International Future Series on Saturday.
The victory guarantees Uganda at least a silver medal on home soil at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
They will face Malaysia's Hafiz Hakimi Hashim and Lim Xuan in the championship clash scheduled for Sunday.
The final is set as the third match on Court 1 with play starting at 11 am.
This marks a significant improvement from the 2025 edition where Uganda collected seven bronze medals.
Last year Lubega and Husina Kobugabe won bronze in mixed doubles while Mbabazi and Kobugabe claimed bronze in women's doubles.
Fred Kirabo and Ivan Mayega took bronze in men's doubles with Harshita Singh securing the seventh bronze.
The packed closing programme features fierce international competition across all divisions.

Lubega and Mbabazi progressed through four days of competition from September 24 to 27 as top seeds to reach Sunday's gold medal match.
