Kitara beat Kataka 2-1 at the Bukedea Comprehensive School Sports Complex on Saturday to claim their second StarTimes Uganda Premier League victory of the season.
Jimmy Kalema broke the deadlock on 57 minutes after latching onto a long ball from Benjamin Nyakoojo.
Substitute Crispus Asiki doubled the lead in the 90th minute when a Zagga through ball split the Kataka defence.
Latif Ssenkubuge pulled one back for the hosts in the second minute of added time but it proved only a consolation.
The Royals stay unbeaten with eight points from four matches and sit sixth on the 18-team log.
Kataka remain winless after five outings with just two points, leaving them second from bottom.
The talking point in Bukedea is whether Kataka can convert spirited displays into points before the gap widens.
Kitara next face URA FC while Kataka travel to Express FC.
