KCCA midfielder Elvis Ngonde has called for unity and a strong collective performance ahead of the Kasasiro Boys' clash with Ntugasaze at Kira Police Arena on Friday.
The 13-time league champions enter their sixth outing with seven points from five matches while their hosts have collected three points from the same number of games.
Ngonde admitted the start has been underwhelming but insisted the squad is pushing to improve and deliver a better show for the faithful.
"We are ready to play against Ntugasaze. We want to collect three points. I want to make more assists but also play well," Ngonde said.
He credited senior players for keeping the group focused during the difficult early weeks of the campaign.
"The senior players have helped us so much. They have always reminded us to do our best and represent KCCA well because it's a big club," Ngonde said.
The midfielder also stressed that fan backing will be crucial if KCCA are to close the gap on the leading pack.
"It's important to be united as a team. Always turn up with a strong fight, and we can only do that to its maximum ability with the backing of our fans," he noted.
Ntugasaze will look to use home advantage to kickstart their own season after a slow opening.
Kick-off at Kira Police Arena is 4pm.
