FIFA President Gianni Infantino lauds Cameroon on their historic 2026 WAFCON success following their victory over Malawi in the final in Rabat on Sunday.
Cameroon finally etched their name in the history books by clinching their maiden Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title with a 3-0 win over the Scorchers.
Marie Ngah scored a brace and Ndjoah Eto added the third to secure the silverware for the Indomitable Lionesses in Morocco.
Infantino, who graced the final, thanked CAF and the hosts for organizing a tournament that shone a spotlight on women’s football.
“The African Cup of Nations, organised by CAF and by Morocco, was a huge, huge success,” Infantino said.
He extended congratulations to the Cameroon outfit for giving joy to their football-loving nation with this historic first triumph.
Malawi also received praise from the FIFA chief for their wonderful journey during their maiden appearance at the tournament.
