Uganda Cranes beat Libya 1-0 at Hoima City Stadium on Tuesday in their final AFCON 2027 qualifier.

Arnold Vula scored on his debut to give the Cranes a historic victory at the newly constructed venue.

Thousands of supporters travelled from Kampala despite the midweek fixture and long journey.

The atmosphere was electric with singing and ululation filling the stands throughout the match.

The pitch was immaculate and the stadium looked the part for a continental occasion.

However Hoima city still has serious infrastructure homework before hosting AFCON 2027.

Accommodation, transport and hospitality services struggled to cope with the influx.

The argument doing the rounds in Kampala is whether the city can scale up in time for the tournament.

Fans treated a dead rubber like a final proving the Cranes faithful will travel anywhere.

Qualification was already secure yet the turnout suggested bigger nights await next year.
