Gabriel Jesus has revealed he thanks God for the chance to wear the Barcelona shirt after completing a shock £8.6million summer move from Arsenal.
The 29-year-old Brazilian striker has scored twice in four appearances across all competitions since arriving at the Camp Nou.
Speaking to Sport, Jesus detailed the adaptation plan he followed during his first month in Catalonia.
"They gave us a plan for the days off and I trained a lot," Jesus said.
He added that knowing several players from previous clubs helped him settle quickly alongside what he described as incredible teammates and a great coach.
Jesus also opened up on his childhood affinity for the Catalan giants.
"All the fans remind me that I used to miss some classes to watch Barça in the Champions League," he said.
"To end up wearing the Barça shirt is something I thank God for. It is his doing. And here I am."
The former Manchester City man identified Joao Cancelo as his closest friend in the squad after three shared years at the Etihad Stadium.
"The funniest player in the team is Cancelo because of the way he talks, the way he is," Jesus said.
Barcelona sit top of La Liga with seven wins from seven games and face Getafe this weekend.
Jesus scored 32 goals in 123 appearances during an injury-hit Arsenal spell before seeking greener pastures in Spain.
