FUFA released the 2026/2027 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League first-round fixtures on Thursday with champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC opening against Jinja United WFC at St Mary's Stadium on 19 September.

The season kicks off Saturday 19 September at 4:00 PM when Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC host newly promoted Jinja United WFC at St Mary's Stadium in Kitende.

FUFA Competitions Director Shawn Mubiru confirmed seven double headers will feature in the first round at St Mary's Stadium, Hamz Stadium-Nakivubo and MTN Omondi Stadium.

"This season we have introduced season double headers where a stadium will host an FWSL match and the UPL game on the same day," Mubiru said.

Vipers SC face Ntugasaze FC at 8:00 PM on opening day at St Mary's Stadium making it the first FWSL-UPL double header.

FWSL matches nationwide now kick off at 4:00 PM after stakeholder engagement approved by the FUFA Executive Committee.

Five Sunday fixtures on 20 September complete the opening weekend with URA Ladies FC hosting KCCA Women FC at Hamz Stadium-Nakivubo among the ties.

The argument doing the rounds in Kampala is whether double headers will truly grow women's football or merely treat it as a curtain-raiser for the men's game.

Twelve teams will compete for the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League title across the 2026/2027 campaign.
