Moses Matovu, the former Ugandan footballer, administrator and music legend, died on Friday, prompting Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) condolences over his lifelong service to the game and music.
FUFA President Moses Magogo, the Executive Committee, members, Secretariat and the wider football fraternity mourned Matovu, extending condolences to his family, relatives, friends and the SC Villa fraternity.
His playing path included Nakivubo Boys, now SC Villa, as well as Express FC, Police FC and Buganda regional side Kibuli United, spanning clubs and administrative duties.
Magogo described Matovu as a man who loved football to the core, saying he lived, breathed and served football and music in every capacity.
The FUFA President said Matovu loved SC Villa and the Uganda Cranes, with selfless, unwavering commitment that should continue inspiring others.
The argument now is how his football and music legacy should be carried forward; honouring that service through remembrance is the least Villa can do.
