FUFA will convene two stakeholders’ workshops at the end of this month to help shape a fresh Women’s Football Strategy, with the roadmap replacing the 2019 framework that has guided the women’s game to date.
The federation, working with FIFA through its Women’s Football Development Programme, says the document will chart direction from grassroots and youth development through to elite football, the Crested Cranes, competitions, governance and commercialisation.
The first workshop lands on 31st August at Jevine Hotel Lubaga, with the second following on 1st September 2026 at FUFA Stadium Kadiba, both facilitated by FIFA.
Delegates from across Uganda’s women’s football ecosystem are expected at the table, bringing experiences, priorities and recommendations to feed directly into the final strategy.
What will the new strategy cover?
Discussions will weigh up the current state of women’s football in Uganda, key achievements, gaps and strategic priorities for the coming years, from boosting participation and strengthening youth pathways to lifting national team performance and growing the commercial value of the women’s game.
