FUFA has confirmed that nine heritage players have arrived at the Marriott Hotel in Kampala to join the Uganda Cranes camp ahead of the AFCON 2027 qualifier against Libya.
The federation hired consultants who compiled a report of more than 200 eligible professional players worldwide.
From that list, 20 players were identified and nine have now linked up with the squad before today's flight to Hoima.
The nine include Abdoulaye Sissako of Sint-Truiden, Akpan David Udoh of Mosta FC and Dieudonne Gaucho Debohi of Rakow Czestochowa.
Also in camp are Souleyman Diaby of FC Winterthur, Vula Arnold of K. Beerschot VA and Noble Okello Ayo of Lexington SC.
Sissako was born in France to a Ugandan grandmother while Udoh won the FIFA U-17 World Cup with Nigeria in 2015.
Debohi qualifies through his maternal grandmother Tereza Wandera from Majanji.
Diaby's maternal grandfather is Sonko Sulaiman from Masaka while Arnold's paternal grandmother was born in Pakwach.
Okello Ayo was raised in Toronto to parents with Lango roots and previously earned two senior caps for Canada.
FUFA says the AFCON qualifiers will be used to identify cohesion among the best Ugandan footballers before the 2027 finals.
The three-fold plan also targets improved domestic club competitions and structured academies for long-term growth.
